ALA UPBMS Project

The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) has undertaken a project to advance the legal management profession by creating a comprehensive system of codes, a taxonomy, that encompasses the wide variety of processes needed to support the practice of law.

Collectively known as the ALA Uniform Process Based Management System (UPBMS), these codes will provide a standard framework for legal operations to develop, implement and maintain successful management and operational strategies, and encourage the use of a common language and approach to legal support operations across the industry.
